KNH Mortuary holding baby’s body for two months over Sh30k bill

A mother in Kahawa Wendani, Kiambu County is appealing to well-wishers to assist her raise Sh30,000 so that she can pay a morgue that has been holding the body of his son for the last two months.

Bravian Baraka died at the Kenyatta National Hospital in September leaving a bill of Sh661,782. This bill was waived through the assistance of the Kiambu County government after the Kahawa Wendani area MCA raised the matter with governor Kimani Wamatangi.

Sharon Mbone Musila has however been able to get her son’s body from the Kenyatta National Hospital Mortuary for the last two months for burial as she is unable to raise the morgue fee which as at today is shy of hitting Sh31,000.

Social media personality Derrick Mbugua who this morning visited Sharon has appealed to Kenyans of good will to assist the woman give her son his final rites so that he can rest in peace.

“My prayer is to see we have supported this young mother to put his son to rest,” said Mbugua.

“She tells me according to Luhya culture it is good the child is buried at his ancestral home in Bungoma,” said Mbugua.
