Collins Serem alias Rengstar who is based in Kamplemur village in Sugoi has created a fake account under DP Gachagua’s name and used it to ask for donations meant to feed Kenyans facing hunger.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the artist had even Serem initiated a pay bill number linked to a Standard Chartered bank account where his 14,000 followers had been directed to send donations.

“The suspect published a pay bill number connected to an account at Eldoret’s Standard Chartered bank and appealed to his over 14K followers to come together and raise funds for the victims of hunger, promising God’s blessings to those who would heed to the appeal,” said the DCI.
