The director for motor vehicle registration and licensing at the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) Christopher Kinyua Wanjau is the new Secretary for the National Registration Bureau (NRB).
Wanjau replacer Reuben Kimotho who has since retired after being at the helm for the last 16 years.
Kimotho had had his contract extended at NRB for almost two years.
The bureau produces among others identification cards.
Wanjau is credited with the digitization of services at NTSA, which has brought services closer to the public through the self-service portal known as TIMS.
Under Wanjau, NTSA acquired state-of-the-art printing machines for digital driving licenses, besides the devolution of services for Driving Licences (DLs) to be accessed at Huduma offices across the country.
Wanjau worked at Kiambu County as the head of Thika Municipality and Deputy County Commissioner in different regions including Thika and Eldoret West in Uasin Gishu.
Wanjau holds two Masters’s degrees including one in Public Administration from Moi University, and another in Business Administration Strategic Management from Catholic University.
