A suspect who stabbed to death his friend in cold blood died a few moments later after he drowned while trying to escape from a mob that wanted to lynch him in Rongai, Nakuru.

Francis Loleila stabbed Francis Kipchirchir, 33 on the back at Legeto village killing him on the spot. Members of the public who found out about the murder immediately gave Loleila a chase.

While escaping from the mob, the murder suspect jumped into the enraging waters of the Molo river hoping he would shake them off. He however drowned in the process.

Police who visited the scene from Rongai Police Station retrieved Loleila’s body from the river with the help of divers. The police found Kipchir’s body with stab wounds on the head and back. The bodies have been moved to Nakuru Municipal County Morgue pending an autopsy
