Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi last evening confirmed that he will present himself before the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) today morning.
The confirmation came hours after the DCI issued a fresh summon to the former CS to appear before detectives to shed light on his claims that police had raided his home on February 9, 2023.
“My client will honor the summon and present himself at the headquarters at 8.00 am instead of 9. 00 am,” Omari said in a letter addressed to the DCI.
In the fresh summon, Senior Superintendent of Police Micheal Sang said Matiangi should appear at the agency’s office at 9:30 am without fail or risk facing arrest.
He had warned that “failure to comply with the requisition constitutes an offense liable to prosecution”.
Sang stated that he is investigating allegations of Publication of False Information contrary to section 23 of the Computer Misuse and Cyber Crimes Act 2018 amongst other offenses in regard to the alleged raid at his home on February 9.
“I have reasons to believe that Matiangi can assist me in my investigations,” he said.
The former powerful Cabinet Secretary jetted back into the country on Saturday after flying to the UK two weeks ago.
