The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is progressing into the second phase of investigations into the death of Jeff Mwathi who reportedly fell to his death from an apartment belonging to Dj Faxto.
In a statement, the DCI has said that several persons of interest will be interrogated and appropriate recommendations made to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
During the first phase of the probe, witnesses were interviewed, a forensic examination of the scene was done and CCTV footage was reviewed.
“Several other DCI Forensic experts assisting the Homicide investigators have also collected crucial evidence and the same is being analysed,” said the DCI.
Mwathi is said to have fallen from the 10th floor of an apartment belonging to DJ Faxto. The DJ is among the people set to be interrogated in the second phase of investigations. He had initially told police that he was not in the house when the incident happened.
“We are in the meantime requesting the public to be patient as we endeavor to establish the circumstances surrounding Jeff’s untimely death,” the DCI said.
