Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) Ezekiel Machogu has ordered for the reinstatement of ousted Meru University of Science and Technology Vice Chancellor Romanus Odhiambo.
In a statement released on Monday, Machogu said the move by the university’s council to send Odhiambo on terminal leave and appoint an acting VC was ill-defined.
“The university council is directed to facilitate the resumption of Odhiambo as VC with immediate effect, in any case before the closure of business on March 7,” part of the stament read.
Following a prior meeting, the council released a letter dated February 27, 2023 where they resolved to appoint an acting VC claiming Odhiambo did not deserve a second term.

His term was expected to lapse in July this year.
