The body of a woman who had been missing for two days was found stashed in a sack in the Kabete area, Nairobi. Fatuma Wanjiku Omar aged 40 had been missing since May 19 in unclear circumstances, police and the family said.

The body was discovered on May 21 in the evening by a man who was washing clothes on the riverbank of the Nairobi river that passes through the Matini area. The man said he saw a sack that had human legs protruding from it before he called the police.

Police who arrived at the scene said they realized the body had three deep cuts in the ear. A relative identified the body before it was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and probe. Police said they are investigating a case of murder and are yet to establish the motive so far.

Meanwhile, police are investigating an incident in which a man was found dead in his toilet in Santack area, Nairobi.

A tenant who stayed in a servants quarter of one Mwotia Mwanguru told police he had passed through the main house while heading to his house on Sunday evening when he spotted the man sitting in the toilet and unresponsive.

He said the toilet door was wide open at the time he noticed the body. The tenant called the police who picked up the body to the mortuary pending autopsy. Police said the deceased did not have any physical injuries at the time of the incident.
