Sauti Sol, one of Africa’s biggest boy bands is going to breakup. Its members have declared that they will take an indefinite hiatus from performing together.
The band announced in a statement on Saturday that this will begin after their planned world tour. They will play in numerous nations across Europe and America.
“The upcoming tour across the US, Europe and Canada is a chance for fans to immerse themselves in the magic of Sauti Sol one last time before the band takes a break from group projects for a while.”
The band members; Mudigi Savara, Bien Baraza, Willis Chimano, and Polycarp Otieno have promised fans electrifying performances throughout the tour. They will belt out the hits that catapulted them to world fame.
“As close friends and business partners, the band members are eager to explore fresh creative avenues. They will embark on personal endeavours. However, their friendship and shared vision will continue to be the driving force behind their future projects,” said Sauti Sol.
“While the indefinite hiatus marks the end of a specific chapter, it also represents a new beginning for Sauti Sol.”
The group stated that the inspiration for their upcoming endeavors will continue to come from their friendship and common goals.
As artists and friends, they noted that the more than 20 years they have spent together had been an incredible adventure.
“We are filled with gratitude for the love and support we have received throughout the years. While we take this hiatus to pursue our individual and collective passions, we remain committed to our friendship and our shared businesses. The bond between us is unbreakable and we are excited for what the future holds.”
