A guard at Alliance Girls High School was on June 28 arrested after he was accused of defiling a student.

Police say the incident happened on the night of June 20 but it was reported a week later.

The school’s principal Jedida Mwangi reported the incident at Kikuyu police station.

Detectives visited the school and established that the guard defiled the 16-year-old earlier than reported.

The officers interrogated the student and an identification parade, involving all night guards, was conducted. The victim positively identified the guard.

“An identification parade was conducted involving all night guards where the perpetrator was positively identified by the victim,” police said.

Police said the perpetrator is one Daniel Pango, an employee of Ideal Security Company.

The minor was escorted to Wanginge Hospital for medical examination where it was confirmed that she had actually been defiled.

And in Teso North, a teacher was arrested after he was found in a lodging with a 15-year-old student.

Police say Joseph Omusingu Omusolo, a teacher at Angurai primary, was with the student at Angurai Bar and Restaurant.

Officers managed to rescue them from the angry members of the public and escorted them to Moding police station.
