Labour Cabinet Secretary Florence Bore and Gatanga Mp Edward Muriu are embroiled over the ownership of a Sh120 million house at Amara Ridge in Karen after failing to agree on the buying price of the home.
Sources have told us that the first time MP had put the house on sale for Sh120 million but the CS wanted to buy it for Sh90 million.
Apparently, the two had not yet agreed on the price or even made a written agreement when the CS who was living in Kajiado decided to move in. Those in the know say that the CS made a down payment to a caretaker at the property when the MP was out of the country together with his wife.
It is said that the MP was shocked on his return to find his house occupied yet he had not been paid.
“Thereafter, I traveled to the US for my daughter’s graduation and when I came back on Wednesday, I brought my people to clean the house and mow the lawn.. and to my shock, I found the house open,” Mary Mureu, the Mps wife told Citizen TV.

The situation has in the past week escalated with the CS not only refusing to move out but also deploying police officers from Karen Police Station to prevent any intrusion. A worker at the property has even filed a report at Karen Police Station claiming that the Mp assaulted him.
A man who had been deployed to the house by Mureu to do repairs has also filed an assault report at the same station after police officers manhandled him in front of media cameras.
The Police Command at Karen Police Station have washed their hands off the matter claiming that it is a civil issue. They have told the MP to seek redress at the courts as they do not want to get involved.
