A fourth year Moi University student was last evening electrocuted while harvesting avocados from a tree at the institution in Kesses, Eldoret.
Shelton Ochieng, fourth year Bachelor of Maths and Physics student met his death when he touched a live wire by mistake.
“Shelton was on a tree harvesting avocados when the branch he was on tilted and touched a live electric power line,” said witnesses.
He was rushed to the university’s dispensary where he was pronounced dead. His body is currently lying at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital
