Nation Media Group is today set to collapse the walls that have separated its departments for the last six decades as it transitions to an integrated operation model.

Editorial Director Joe Ageyo will announce the changes which will see the media house’s journalists shuffled to where their talents will be suit the company’s new model.

Some bureaus too could be shut down or merged in order to streamline operations.

The company has over the past two weeks been silently laying off employees in readiness for the converged newsroom.

Since its creation, the company‘s editorial departments have been operating independent of each other and as competitors despite working for the same brand.

It is very likely that journalists working broadcast department which comprises of NTV and Nation FM will be combined with those from the vast print department in one joint newsroom.

The sports departments from NTV and the Daily Nation have been working using this model under veteran journalist Elias Makori for the last four years seamlessly.

An attempt to combine business desks in 2017 failed to work because of competing interests as the company already had a flagship business paper, the Business Daily.
