Nyamira County Majority Leader dies in a road accident

Nyamira County assembly Majority leader Osiemo Masira died on the spot after a vehicle he was traveling in was involved in a gruesome road accident along Mahi mau-Maivasha highway.

Two other MCAs; Duke Masira and Pricilla Nyatichi were left with critical injuries on the chest and head leaving one unconscious,they were rushed to Naivasha level four hospital where they are receiving treatment.

The MCAs were traveling to Nairobi to attend a USAID meeting that will be attended by Executive and Assembly Committees for Agriculture and Delegated Legislation from the Assembly.

Eye witnesses said that the vehicle that the MCA’s were traveling in was overtaking a motorbike which was carrying a heavy load. The vehicle in the process it hit the load and lost control before landing in a ditch.

Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo in his condolences said the county has lost a young,inderstrious leader with immense leadership skills with a political life ahead of him.

“I have learnt the demise of the county majority leader with shock and deep sadness,” said Nyaribo.

Nyaribo took the opportunity to convey his condolences to family, friends and the people of Nyamaiya ward and also wished those left with injuries speed recovery.
