Kisumu Girls High School has been closed indefinitely and students sent home.
Trouble started last night when the administration declined to have a music in the school. The students went on rampage, with some sitting on the fields, refusing to go sleep.
The matter escalated on Sunday, with students being rowdy and making noise in the school.
Nyanza Regional Director Of Education Nelson Sifuna revealed that the students also complained of corporal punishment.
The official explained that some of the allegations were being investigated by the school administration.
“The situation worsened yesterday when officers from the National Government Administration and Ministry of Education tried to address them at the Dining Hall but they were angry,” he added
