Nyamira governor Amos Nyaribo has survived a plot to impeach him after the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) rallied its members to save him.
Nyaribo is the UPA party leader. The party enjoys a slim majority in the county assembly with six members followed by ODM which has four members and Jubilee (two).
UPA had over the weekend approached its affiliate parties in Azimio to help save its party leader while threatening dire consequences to its members who voted in support of the impeachment.
The impeachment motion has today evening failed after 18 MCA’s shot it down against 16 who voted in support.
