President William Ruto inaugurated the Ksh.9.6 billion Bunge Towers on Thursday morning, marking the culmination of a project that was postponed due to the tragic death of Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) General Francis Ogolla.
The original launch date, scheduled for April 19, was rescheduled out of respect for General Ogolla’s passing.
Accompanied by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Speakers Moses Wetangula (National Assembly) and Amaso Kinngi (Senate), President Ruto toured the expansive facility following its official opening, joined by other dignitaries.
Speaker Kinngi emphasized the significance of the Towers, highlighting that it will enable the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC) to save approximately Ksh.400 million annually on rent for parliamentary meeting facilities.
The 28-storey building boasts luxurious amenities for Kenyan legislators, including a gym, a beauty parlor, and a restaurant. Additionally, it will provide committee rooms for members to conduct their parliamentary affairs.
An underground tunnel connects the offices to the parliament buildings, ensuring security and convenience for Members of Parliament.
