Citizen TV news anchor Trevor Ombija is gearing up for a tough political race, if his latest moves are any indication.
The media personality has been eying the Nyakach MP seat, and his recent activities suggest a strong political ambition.
During the funeral of Kisumu Senator Tom Ojienda’s mother in Nyakach, Ombija confirmed the rumors about his political ambitions.
“I have offered my sincere condolences to my friend Tom Ojienda. I will not say much because of time. To the Nyakach people, I only have two requests. Let’s embrace development without chaos,” he said.
“The difference in ideologies is not enmity. Do you agree or not? If the whistle is blown for the race to start, is there anyone who can run faster than a dog?”
Through his foundation, Ombija has started contributing to various charity events, signaling his intent to give back to his community and lay a foundation for his political career.
Despite the Media Council of Kenya’s rule that members cannot declare interest in a political seat while still in practice, Ombija has found ways to signal his ambitions without explicitly stating them.
