Former nominated Senator Millicent Omanga has addressed persistent claims that she is among those receiving lucrative tenders at State House for interior furnishing projects.
The politician and businesswoman, who recently showcased a brand-new 2024 Range Rover Autobiography, has refuted allegations that she is benefiting from government contracts.
Omanga clarified that she is not employed by the government nor engaged in tenderpreneurship under the current administration. “I neither work for the government nor am I a tenderpreneur in this government. I’m a private person doing private business,” she stated.
She also emphasized that she has not received any benefits from President William Ruto’s regime.
“I’ve never benefited from this government, either in cash or kind,” she added.
Her acquisition of the luxury vehicle, which costs at least KSh40 million, sparked criticism and speculation regarding the source of her wealth. Additionally, Omanga was previously appointed by Ruto as an Assistant Cabinet Secretary (CAS), a position that was later declared unconstitutional.
