Detectives are probing the mysterious death of Chief Inspector Julius Tanui, a senior National Youth Service (NYS) officer, who had been missing for four days in Nairobi. Tanui, 48, was last seen on June 6, and his body was discovered in his house on June 10.
Tanui, stationed at the NYS headquarters along Thika Road, had not been in contact with family and friends, who had been searching for him. On Monday, his colleagues forced entry into his residence and found his decomposing body on his bed.
Police reported that the body did not show any visible signs of injury, leaving the cause of death undetermined. The body has been transported to the morgue for autopsy and further investigation.
