The Kenya Meteorological Department has warned Kenyans to brace for another week of extreme weather conditions.
In a forecast announced on Friday, July 26, the department indicated that the challenging weather patterns of the past week are expected to continue.
Kennedy Thiong’o, Director of Meteorological Services, in an update to Kenyans provided details on the expected conditions.
“Rainfall is expected to persist in parts of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Central Rift Valley, and Northwestern Kenya,” Thiong’o stated.
The forecast for Saturday, July 27, predicts rain in various regions. The morning will see showers in some areas, followed by afternoon showers over high-ground areas in Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka, and Nairobi Counties. Evening showers are also expected in these regions.
Sunday’s weather will be similar to Saturday’s, with cloudy skies giving way to sunny intervals in the morning, afternoon showers over high-ground areas, and partly cloudy conditions in the evening.
