A man was on Monday, 08th July 2024, arraigned at the Milimani Law Courts for allegedly stealing Ksh. 106,526,597 from a Nairobi bank.
Elias Kivuti Nyaga was charged with stealing the amount from Family Bank on diverse dates between July 1, 2019, and November 25, 2021, with others not before the court.
“It is alleged that on diverse dates between 1st July 2019 and 25th November 2021, Elias Kivuti Nyaga at Family Bank in Nairobi, jointly with others, not before court, stole the aforementioned cash, which belonged to Family Bank Limited,” reads part of the statement by the ODPP.
Nyaga was also charged with handling stolen goods.
He pleaded not guilty to all charges before Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Gilbert Shikwe and was released with a Ksh. 6 million bond and a surety of the same amount.
The matter will be mentioned on July 22, 2024.
