On Monday, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) seized 1.15 kilograms of methamphetamine at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
According to police, the unidentified suspect attempted to smuggle the drug by concealing it within a larger consignment discovered in a warehouse. The intercepted parcel contained methamphetamine with an estimated street value of Sh9.2 million.
The seizure was made possible following a tip-off to the Anti-Narcotics detectives stationed at JKIA. This information led to a thorough search within the warehouse, resulting in the discovery of the hidden drugs.
Authorities stated that the investigation is ongoing to identify the trafficker and determine the intended destination of the methamphetamine.
