Businessman and influencer Joseph Kairo, popularly known as Khalif Kairo, has condemned President William Ruto’s recent Cabinet appointments.
Expressing his discontent on his X account, Kairo criticized the nominees chosen to fill the vacant Cabinet Secretary positions. “We tell people not to go to the streets, get insulted here for days on end for the love of the country, then you reappoint the same people who brought the country into the same crisis. Bana shida ya huyu msee huwa nini?” Kairo lamented.
Kairo has faced negative publicity in recent weeks for urging the youth to avoid street demonstrations. He consistently advocated for giving the government time to address issues, emphasizing that trying to unseat the president would only destabilize the country’s economy.
However, dissatisfied with the president’s latest appointees, Kairo expressed his frustration and declared he is done fighting for what he believed was the greater good of the country.
“Whatever happens from this point on, Mungu nisamehe na uni absolve. I used my voice and influence responsibly for the greater benefit of the country at the risk of my repute over public opinion. @WilliamsRuto you have made a mistake, and the repercussions will be dire. Nimeosha Mkono,” he said.
