The SDA church has recalled the suspension of five religious leaders who had been previously banned from ministering in their pulpits. The individuals included Pastor Elizabeth Mokoro, Kenneth Maina, Evangelist Shaban Ndege, Evangelist Millicent Odhiambo, and Evangelist Lantena.
On July 4, the SDA Kenya Coast field issued a notice instructing members not to allow these five leaders to minister in their branches. The notice, signed by Pastor Eliab Ombuoro, the executive secretary, cited an adoption of the East Kenya Union Conference (EKUC) action as the basis for this decision, specifically action number 24EXCOM-055. Ombuoro emphasized that the leaders were not authorized to conduct any church services within or outside the KCE territory.
However, it has since been confirmed that this letter of suspension has been withdrawn.
