In a statement after meeting South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir, Raila Odinga revealed that the leader has committed to securing the support of the entire East African Community (EAC) bloc for Raila’s bid for the African Union Commission (AUC) Chair position.
“I had a highly productive meeting in Juba with President Salva Kiir Mayardit of South Sudan. I am deeply grateful for your hospitality and support. Your commitment to garnering the entire EAC bloc’s backing for my AUC Chair candidacy is greatly appreciated,” Raila stated.
