The chaos and looting that was witnessed during Tuesday’s protests have attracted the wrath of several Kenyans including socialite Huddah Monroe. The demonstrations were marred by the infiltration of goons, thugs, and vandals, creating a scene described by Huddah as akin to a doomsday scenario.
Taking to Instagram, Huddah Monroe expressed deep disappointment in the outcome of the protests, highlighting their lack of direction compared to previous demonstrations. She emphasized the need for unity and a singular focus within the protest movements.
“Can we choose one movement and stick to it until accomplished? Movements without direction lead nowhere! It’s pure exhaustion. Let’s choose one, aim at it, and then move to the next,” Huddah remarked in her posts.
She specifically addressed the younger generation, predominantly Gen Z, who had been active in earlier protests, urging them to maintain a clear and cohesive plan of action.
“A single plan is crucial. If it’s #RUTOMUSTGO, then that should be our new national anthem. We must see it through before shifting focus,” she asserted.
Reflecting on the effectiveness of past protests like #OccupyParliament, Huddah credited their success to having clear objectives and organized coordination.
“Last time, it was occupy Parliament, and we achieved that goal. Now we need a similar rallying point,” she remarked.
Huddah Monroe also advocated for uniformity in messaging during protests, suggesting that all placards should convey the same demands to amplify their impact.
