Oscar Kipchumba Sudi, a well-known Kenyan politician, has recently attracted attention with his high-priced trademark watch. During an interview with Oga Obinna, Sudi proudly showcased his luxury timepiece, which has become a topic of public discussion.
In the interview, Obinna asked Sudi, “Do you have a watch worth one million?” To this, Sudi responded by removing the watch and passing it to Obinna for closer examination.
Sudi then challenged Obinna to use Google to check the watch’s price. Using Google Lens, Obinna discovered that the watch costs $128,000, or about 16.6 million Kenyan Shillings.
This watch is 17million?” Obinna incredulously asks Sudi.
“Can I tell you something? Hii ssa, siwezi kupea, usiote, kwa sababu hata mimi nilipewa na my brother I also did not know the price. “
Sudi further defended himself, saying, “Kenyans are very brilliant, they are top business people and knowledgeable. Let’s leave envy and ignorance behind. This watch was a gift from a close friend, a former Prime Minister from another country. He gave me two watches, and I didn’t know their value.”
In addition to addressing the controversy over the watch, Sudi criticized the younger generation for their anti-government protests and criticism of his contributions to charity. He also announced plans to reopen his club, which was vandalized during the protests, claiming a loss of 48 million shillings.
