On Friday, Raila Odinga hosted Kojo Brew Acquaisie, the African Union Mission to Somalia (AMISOM) Civilian Chief of Staff, for a productive meeting. Raila shared the news on his X handle, describing the meeting as fruitful.
In addition, Raila held a conversation with Kenya’s Deputy Head of Mission in Berlin, Ambassador Valerie Rugene. Their discussions centered on potential collaborations and strategies to enhance regional stability and development.
“Excited about the potential for positive change on the African continent and enhanced collaboration,” Raila expressed on X.
AMISOM is a peacekeeping mission operated by the African Union in Somalia with approval from the United Nations.
This meeting is particularly significant as Raila prepares for his bid for the African Union Commission (AUC) Chairperson position. On Monday, Kenya formally submitted Raila’s candidacy for the seat.
