The Gusii region is eagerly preparing for President William Ruto’s three-day tour, which is set to begin on Monday, August 12.
Regional leaders have been actively working to ensure the success of the President’s visit.
On Sunday, Nyaribari Chache MP Zaheer Jhanda held several mobilization meetings with thousands of women from the region, demonstrating strong support for the upcoming tour.
Jhanda praised President Ruto for including the Kisii region in his Cabinet by appointing Julius Migos Ogamba as the Education Cabinet Secretary. He expressed gratitude for this decision, especially following the dismissal of the previous Cabinet on July 11, 2024.
“I thank him for appointing Julius Migos Ogamba as Education CS,” Jhanda said.
The MP emphasized the importance of the President’s visit, noting that it comes at a time when the country is focused on reconciliation. He urged all regional leaders to unite behind President Ruto to help advance his agenda for the people of Kenya.
During his tour, President Ruto is expected to launch a Sh3.4 billion Ultra-Modern Cancer Centre, a project that had been stalled for years due to delays in completing paperwork between the government and the lender.
In addition, Ruto will launch several Last Mile Connectivity initiatives in Kisii and Nyamira counties.
