American R&B singer and actor Tyrese Gibson has been taken into custody for failing to comply with a court order requiring him to pay $10,000 per month in child support.
The order, issued in April 2023, mandates that Gibson provide financial support for his five-year-old daughter, Soraya, whom he shares with his ex-partner, Samantha Lee.
Despite the court’s directive, Gibson has reportedly been paying only $2,200 each month. As a result, he now faces charges of contempt of court.
Following his arrest earlier today, Gibson has been given an opportunity to rectify the situation and avoid a potential jail sentence. To resolve the matter, he must pay a total of $73,000, which includes the overdue child support and Samantha Lee’s attorney fees.
