The new Cabinet Secretary for Cooperatives Wycliffe Oparanya has parted ways with his girlfriend Mary Biketi following the leaking of their photos and videos in April.
Biketi, who made news for dating the polygamous Cabinet Secretary was nowhere to be seen during Oparanya’s homecoming party that was attended by President William Ruto in Kakamega last week.
Instead, Oparanya introduced a new woman by the name Sharon Ambetsa who he referred to as his ‘small wife.’
“Those (wives) who have managed to grace this occasion, welcome to the podium for the introduction. Sharon Oparanya is the one taking care of my wardrobe, and she is my youngest. My second wife is Tabitha Ambetsa, a teacher, and Priscilla is my first wife,” said Oparanya amid laughter from the crowd.
People aware of the situation between Biketi and Oparanya say the cabinet secretary was angered by the leaking of their photos to the press.
“He found out that she was behind those photos and was very furious,” sources say.
While condemning the leakage of the photos, Oparanya at that time said he had a family that needs his protection.
“I have a big family to protect so those sending out fake news should stop. Here I am, I can speak, I have no problem. I have been in Mombasa for a few days meeting my people from my own community,” he said.
On her part, Biketi claimed innocence saying that she did not leak them. This is despite inviting the media to film her arrival together with the CS at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in an attempt to publicise their relationship.
“It feels totally bad but there is nothing much I can do. At the same time, I have been receiving positive comments and I just thank God and the people out there for the encouragement,” she said.
