President William Ruto’s son George has allegedly acquired a new matatu named Matrix. The matatu which used to operate along the Nairobi CBD to Embakasi route, has made the switch to operate along the CBD – Rongai route .
The 33 seater matatu which draws inspiration from Keanu Reeves’s character in The Matrix, is a sleek black vehicle featuring green linear inscriptions reminiscent of the film’s iconic visuals.
The designer behind Matrix spared no expense, incorporating a front grill from a Nissan Navara for a bold look. However, the standout feature is its side mirrors, sourced from a Mercedes Actros truck, which cost over KSh 80,000.
The black-and-green color scheme extends to the interior, where the attention to detail is equally impressive. Every seat is equipped with a TV screen, with additional screens mounted on the sides. An 84-inch TV dominates the space behind the driver’s cabin, contributing to a total of more than ten screens throughout the vehicle
George is also the owner of Moneyfest, a controversial matatu which made headlines for breaking traffic rules and forging the mandatory inspection by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) .
