Senior Private Kelvin Ndung’u, a soldier stationed at Moi Airbase with the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), has tragically passed away after being struck by a stone during a confrontation at a nightclub on Mirema Drive in Nairobi’s Roysambu area.
According to initial reports, Ndung’u was involved in a altercation inside the club with several individuals at least two days prior to the incident. The confrontation escalated outside the venue, where he was struck on the head with a rock. The assailants fled the scene immediately after the attack.
The soldier was first taken to Jesse Kay Hospital on Lumumba Drive and later transferred to the Defence Forces Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are reviewing CCTV footage from the nightclub to identify the perpetrators and determine the motive behind the attack.
