Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja met with Azimio-aligned Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) on Tuesday to address rumors of an impeachment motion allegedly being planned by Kenya Kwanza members.
The meeting took place at Sakaja’s campaign office in Riverside and included notable attendees such as Kilimani Ward MCA, Robert Alai.
The governor gathered Azimio and specially elected MCAs to discuss not only the impeachment rumors but also key development plans for Nairobi’s 85 wards in the upcoming 2024/25 fiscal year.
Sakaja highlighted the importance of delivering on his promises to Nairobi residents, stating:
“I believe with the planned developments, we will fulfill our promises to the people of Nairobi. My duty is to serve everyone and build a team that delivers for our residents. We made commitments, and we must honor them. I am committed to making Nairobi work.”
He emphasized that his administration is dedicated to serving all Nairobians, regardless of their political affiliations, and expressed his desire to work with all elected leaders for the greater good of the city.
This meeting comes amid reports of a potential impeachment motion led by Kenya Kwanza against Governor Sakaja, sparking a strategic response from his team.
The meeting comes just days after Azimio principal Raila Odinga was spotted hanging out with Sakaja at his Opoda farm in Bondo.
