Nyamira County Leader of Majority Abel Mose has led all elected MCAs in Nyamira County in signing an impeachment motion against Governor Amos Nyaribo.
The assembly has today morning dewhiped Rigoma Ward MCA Nyambega Gisesa from all positions and committees of the County Assembly for declining to sign the impeachment motion.
Mr Mose, who is the area MCA for Magwagwa Ward where the Governor comes from, said that the MCAs had resolved to send the County boss home for various unfulfilled promises made to the leaders and the electorates.
The impeachment motion has been signed by all the MCAs from the Governor’s North Mugirango Constituency namely Lameck Sikweya( Itibo), Joel Ombongi ( Bokeira), Thaddeus Nyabaro( Ekerenyo), Julius Nyangana ( Bomwagamo) and Magwagwa’s Mr Mose.
Mr Gisesa who is the National Chairperson of the United Progressive Party (UPA) political party in which the Governor was elected into office declined to sign the impeachment motion.
Consequently, the Leader of Majority Mr Mose moved to have Mr Gisesa removed from office as Deputy Leader of Majority and from all House Committees in a Message read by Speaker Enock Okero in the Thursday morning County Assembly session.
Other than the MCAs from the Governor’s backyard, notable allies of the County boss who signed the impeachment motion include George Abuga( Bogichora) , Dennis Kebaso( Nyansiongo) and Vincent Benecha ( Kiabonyoru).
A number of nominated MCAs also signed the impeachment motion .
The County Assembly has 34 elected MCAs and only a simple Majority of 18 are required to impeach the County boss.
Last year, Mr Nyaribo survived the impeachment after 18 MCAs supported him against 16.
