An 18-year-old Form 3 student is recovering from severe injuries after being attacked by her alleged boyfriend at Kiptobit Secondary School in Bomet County. The attack, carried out by an 18-year-old Form 4 student wielding a machete, is believed to be linked to a love triangle.
According to preliminary reports, the assailant, who is a day scholar at the school, entered the premises and assaulted the female student following an argument. The victim suffered deep cuts to her face, head, and neck and is currently receiving treatment at a nearby medical facility.
At the time of the attack, the school was empty of teachers due to a strike, and the watchman was also reportedly absent. The suspect fled the scene after the assault.
Local police have initiated a manhunt for the attacker and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
