Rapper and entrepreneur 50 Cent, born Curtis Jackson, recently revealed that he declined a $3 million offer to perform at former President Donald Trump’s rally at Madison Square Garden this past Sunday. Speaking on The Breakfast Club, a popular radio show, 50 Cent explained that he was also approached to perform his hit song “Many Men” at the Republican National Convention earlier in the year.
However, he opted out of both events, joking that he didn’t even explore the offer further due to his hesitations about mixing music with politics. “When you do get involved in it, no matter how you feel, someone passionately disagrees with you. That’s the formula for confusion,” he remarked. Drawing a parallel to Kanye West, who has faced public backlash for his own political views, 50 Cent noted that Kanye eventually chose to tour overseas to sidestep negative attention in the U.S.
The artist’s comments highlight his desire to remain neutral, expressing concerns over the divisive nature of political involvement.
