The Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) has announced its official move to exit the Azimio la Umoja coalition.
Party leader Eugene Wamalwa, addressing delegates at a national meeting in Webuye, stated that the decision stemmed from the fact that their Azimio partner, the ODM party, is now actively engaged in government.
Wamalwa further outlined DAP-K’s plans to hold grassroots elections nationwide as part of its strategy to strengthen the party’s base. Additionally, he confirmed that DAP-K intends to field its own presidential candidate in the upcoming 2027 elections.
