The government of Equatorial Guinea has issued an order to terminate the employment of all women featured in viral videos involving Baltasar Engonga, the former Director General of the National Financial Investigation Agency. Engonga had reportedly recorded videos with numerous women, including top government officials, influential corporate figures, and relatives of other government officials, which were discovered during a raid on his house and office amid a fraud investigation.
The government has cited violations of Labor Ethics and Public Conduct Laws as the basis for this sweeping action, mandating that all women involved in the videos be dismissed, regardless of their specific roles or employers, as long as they work within Equatorial Guinea. Engonga remains in detention following his arrest, with investigations into both the explicit videos and financial misconduct continuing.
