Former Tahidi High actor Benard Githii Mwangi, better known as Teacher Mweposi, is currently facing difficult times in his life after the end of his role on the popular high school TV series. Relocating to Nyeri to pursue farming, Mweposi soon fell ill, now struggling with diabetes and high blood pressure. This health battle has caused a significant deterioration in his physical condition, leading to noticeable weight loss.
In addition to his health struggles, Mweposi shared that he is dealing with personal challenges, particularly the separation from his wife. He expressed his determination to work towards reuniting with his family. Financially strained by the cost of his diabetes medication, he appealed to Kenyans for help with medical assistance, explaining that life’s difficulties forced him to move to the village.
During a past interview, Mweposi opened up about his struggles with alcoholism, which started while he was working on Tahidi High. Before joining the show, he was a devout Christian who even preached occasionally. However, the pressures of the industry and personal hardships, including a painful family separation in 2011, led him into depression and deepened his dependency on alcohol.
His inconsistent income and underpayment on the show made his struggles even harder to bear. Despite his efforts to make a better life, Mweposi has been left grappling with the aftermath of his decisions and is now seeking assistance as he fights to regain stability in his health and personal life.
