Huldah Momanyi Hiltsley has made history as the first Kenyan-born politician to secure a seat in the United States, winning a spot in the Minnesota House of Representatives in the 2024 US elections.
Running under the Democratic–Farmer–Labor (DFL) Party, she triumphed with 64.78% of the vote. Hiltsley will represent Minnesota’s District 38A, which covers the southwestern areas of Brooklyn Park and Osseo.
