Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja is set to host reggae legend Burning Spear at Uhuru Park on Saturday, November 2, 2024, as part of the artist’s “One People Africa Tour.” The event, organized alongside the popular reggae group Dohty Family, is the first major gathering at Uhuru Park following its extensive renovation.
Scheduled from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM, the concert offers free entry, inviting Nairobi residents and visitors to celebrate a day of reggae, unity, and vibrant culture. Governor Sakaja highlighted that the concert is more than just a musical event; it symbolizes Nairobi’s commitment to revitalizing public spaces and celebrates the city’s diverse heritage.
“This is more than just a concert; it’s a celebration of Nairobi’s rich heritage and a symbol of our commitment to restoring the city’s public spaces,” said Sakaja. He emphasized that hosting Burning Spear, known for his timeless messages of unity and resilience, was an ideal way to commemorate this landmark occasion.
