YouTuber Eve Mungai has responded to criticism from her ex-boyfriend and fellow content creator Director Trevor regarding her recent interview with Simon Kabu.
In a post shared on his Instagram, Trevor criticized the interview, calling it “unprofessional,” “embarrassing,” and “lacking objectivity.” He also suggested that Eve should publicly apologize and redo the interview.
In his statement, Trevor expressed disappointment over the interview, particularly pointing out Eve’s approach in questioning Simon Kabu about his estranged marriage.
Trevor felt that the line of questioning was inappropriate and that the interview lacked professionalism. He emphasized that Simon Kabu was patient throughout the interview, despite the uncomfortable nature of the questions.
Eve did not take kindly to Trevor’s remarks and responded with a fiery statement of her own.
In her instagram stories, she told critics to focus on improving their own work rather than jumping on trending topics for relevance.
She expressed gratitude to her fans for supporting her amid the backlash, and remarked on the importance of her work consistently generating conversation.
“Love to see my work out there, I welcome both positive and negative criticism. Been in this for 4 years, and everything I do must trend! Lol, it’s my work to ensure you guys talk about me and I love it.”
The interview with Simon Kabu garnered significant criticism, especially regarding Eve’s persistent questioning about Kabu’s marriage.
Despite his reluctance to delve into personal matters, Eve continued to press him on the topic, leading some viewers to feel that the interview had crossed boundaries.
Many expressed discomfort with how the questions were framed, with some labeling them as inappropriate and invasive.
