Hussein Mohamed has been elected as the new President of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF), with former Kenyan international McDonald Mariga as his deputy.
Hussein assumes leadership of the FKF from Nick Mwendwa, who has held the position for the past eight years. Mwendwa’s tenure was marked by significant challenges, and Hussein’s election signals a new chapter for the organization as it seeks to restore stability and credibility.
Taking to his social media accounts, Mohammed wrote, “Thank you to all the delegates who believed in the fresh start team and voted for change. This is not just our win, it’s a win for every player, fan, club, and supporter who dreams of a better future for our game.”
He added, “The work to rebuild Kenyan football begins now. Together, we will restore pride, nurture talent, and bring back the passion that unites us all. Thank you very much for making this possible.”
