Nominated UDA Senator Gloria Orwoba has refuted claims published by The Nairobian, a weekly publication by the Standard Group, alleging she is in a relationship with 86-year-old former Ghanaian President John Kufuor. The article also claimed that their alleged affair has resulted in a child.
According to the publication, Senator Orwoba and the former president were described as having “a thing” and purportedly agreed to keep their relationship private. The newspaper also referenced recently surfaced videos allegedly showing Senator Orwoba, while pregnant, with the former president, in which he was reportedly “blessing the baby.”
The article quotes the Senator as admitting, “That is me in the video, and that is the former President. In that video, the former President was blessing the baby.”
However, in a strongly worded statement released Friday, Senator Orwoba dismissed the claims as baseless and labeled the article as “salacious gossip.” She accused The Nairobian of invading her privacy and demanded a retraction.
“For these, I demand an apology and withdrawal of this article and the propaganda it insinuates,” the Senator said.
The allegations have sparked widespread public interest, but Senator Orwoba remains adamant that the claims are unfounded and an intrusion into her private life.
