Terryanne Chebet has officially resigned from CNBC Africa, where she served in various capacities including strategic partnerships consultant, senior correspondent, and business development lead since January 2023.
Chebet confirmed her decision to leave the international media outlet, describing her time there as an invaluable experience.
“I resigned from the station to start my own business show. It has been an amazing experience working with CNBC,” she shared.
Chebet, a renowned business journalist, is now focusing on launching her digital news project, After Hours with Terryanne.
The venture aims to redefine how business news is created and consumed across Africa. Drawing from her extensive career in business journalism, Chebet sees digital platforms as the key to reshaping the news industry.
“I’ve embarked on an exciting new venture to launch my digital news project, After Hours with Terryanne Chebet, which I believe has the potential to revolutionize how business news is produced and consumed across Africa,” she explained.
“We have a responsibility to bring the news to where the people are—on their digital devices, in their own time. This is a space where business news can thrive, evolve, and truly connect with a broader, more engaged audience.”
In a video posted on her Instagram account, Chebet introduced her new initiative, which she described as Kenya’s first online business show.
The program will premiere on X (formerly Twitter) and feature live discussions on X Spaces every week. “It’s the culmination of many special things,” Chebet said, expressing her excitement about the groundbreaking project.
