Ugandan musician Jose Chameleone (real name Joseph Mayanja) has been hospitalized in critical condition, sparking concern among fans and supporters across East Africa.
In a video circulating on social media, Chameleone appears frail as he is assisted from a car to a stretcher before being admitted to a hospital in Uganda.
His management has since issued a statement assuring fans that the iconic musician is receiving the best medical care, adding that they remain optimistic about his recovery.
“To all the Leone Island Music Empire fans and well-wishers, we understand that the news of Jose Chameleone’s hospitalization may have caused worry, but we want to assure you he is receiving the best medical attention and we are optimistic about his recovery,” read the statement.
Although his management has not disclosed the specific illness, they have requested privacy for the singer and his family, promising to provide updates when appropriate.
Chameleone has faced recurring health issues in recent years .In 2023: He was hospitalized in the U.S. for stomach-related complications at Aline Medical Hospital and later resumed performing after recovery.
