Content creator Eve Mungai has accused her ex-boyfriend, Director Trevor, of controlling her Instagram account during their relationship.
According to Mungai, Trevor insisted that she follow no more than 200 people and even instructed her to unfollow certain individuals, including content creator Lydia Wanjiru, based on personal judgements.
In an interview with Lydia Wanjiru, Mungai explained, “He was unfollowing very many of my followers. I was being told not to follow more than 200 people. I was told to unfollow you because you are not beautiful.”
Lydia also recalled being unfollowed by Mungai shortly after predicting the eventual end of her relationship with Trevor.
Eve Mungai and Director Trevor ended their relationship in 2024, which also led to a rebranding of the Mungai Eve Show, a project they worked on together.
Since their breakup, both have shared their perspectives in interviews and social media posts, engaging in indirect exchanges about the fallout.
Trevor recently alleged mistreatment during the breakup, claiming that Mungai made him wait outside her door before sending him money to move out.
He further accused her of delaying his departure to inspect what he was taking and sending an amount much less than they had agreed upon.
Reflecting on their shared efforts, Trevor expressed frustration over the sacrifices he made, including contributing to building both a Nairobi home and an upcountry property.
“I was angry because I left her with all we built together. I sacrificed,” Trevor stated in an interview.
Mungai, on the other hand, has revealed in subsequent interviews that their relationship was not driven by love but by personal circumstances, hinting at a lack of genuine emotional connection between them.
