Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has directed all building owners in the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) to repaint their buildings within the next 90 days.
Speaking on Sunday, January 19, Governor Sakaja announced that a circular outlining the specifics of the directive will be issued soon. However, he did not indicate whether the buildings would need to adhere to a specific color scheme.
“To everyone who has a building in the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD), we are issuing a circular tomorrow directing that all those buildings must be repainted within 90 days. In this period, we will also work on restoring roads within Nairobi,” Sakaja stated.
This initiative aims to give the CBD a fresh look, complementing broader efforts to enhance the city’s infrastructure.
The directive echoes a similar move made in Mombasa County in 2018, where landlords were ordered to uniformly paint all buildings.
